A modeling agency is a company that represents models. They are the go between for models and potential clients like designers, agencies and photographers. A modeling agent works on behalf of the models that are signed to their agency roster to get them in the door for castings in their market.
Local agencies will often seek out new models by opening submissions through their website. It’s important for new models to research whether or not an agency is reputable and what is industry standard for things like “how do models get paid?” or “what kinds of marketing materials do new models need?”
